Building a Suspension Bridge in Rowanda

Local structural engineer Lidiya Burashnikova will share her experiences in the design and construction of a 58-meter suspended pedestrian bridge in Rwanda, Africa. Lidiya volunteered with 10 of her fellow WSP employees from across the US for 2 weeks in March 2018 to bring the building a suspended pedestrian bridge to completion. The project was industry sponsored through Bridges to Prosperity, a non-profit organization based in Denver that builds pedestrian bridges all over the world for those in need. Learn about this exciting experience of not only constructing a bridge, but also a bridging of cultures and people!
Lidiya Burashnikova is a structural engineer E.I.T. working at WSP in Buffalo, NY. She graduated University at Buffalo in 2014 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
